Before diving into what happened in August, here's a quick refresher on Citrea. Citrea is the first and only rollup offering a fully EVM-compatible execution environment secured by Bitcoin, enabling developers to build a Bitcoin-backed economy for self-sovereign finance. Over the past two months, Citrea has been in its Devnet stage, setting up the infrastructure needed for the upcoming testnet.

August was all about showcasing the growth of Citrea’s ecosystem. With more integrations happening every week, the need for a dedicated ecosystem page has become apparent. Right now, the page spotlights our core infrastructure integrations—but that’s just the beginning. With the Citrea Testnet, expect a wave of new applications and projects coming on board!

1 Year of Building Citrea

Our journey began on August 11, 2023, when we inscribed the initial model of Citrea on Bitcoin. Over the past year, our technology, vision, and community have grown stronger. What hasn’t changed is our dedication to scaling Bitcoin and its security.

We have been consistently hitting every single milestone on our roadmap, and next up is the highly anticipated Citrea Testnet.

Citrea’s NYC Happy Hour & Stanford Blockchain Week

This month, we connected with our Bitcoin friends in New York while taking part in Stanford Blockchain Week. To make the most of our time in the city, we hosted a happy hour to bring together builders, researchers, and Bitcoin enthusiasts over beer, wine, and snacks.

At Stanford Blockchain Week, we had the chance to meet some incredible researchers and builders, sparking new ideas and potential collaborations.

Citrea’s YouTube channel is officially live. The YouTube account currently features the recordings from Citrea’s flagship event ‘Scaling Bitcoin Together’.

For those who couldn’t make it to Scaling Bitcoin Together editions in Bitcoin Asia - Hong Kong and EthCC - Brussels, presentations and panels are available on our YouTube page. And this is just the beginning—stay tuned for more educational content on Bitcoin and Citrea.

Finishing Citrea Devnet Expert Campaign

Our ‘Becoming a Citrea Devnet Expert’ campaign wrapped up this month after an exciting journey through three phases, each designed to build a more knowledgeable and engaged community. Participants who joined the campaign claimed exclusive NFTs on Citrea Devnet, with each phase unlocking a different part of the Citrea logo on their NFTs. Only those who completed all three phases claimed the full Citrea logo, showcasing their commitment and expertise.

Thanks to the activities of our participants, we’ve gathered valuable insights regarding Citrea Devnet’s performance.

Citrea Devnet Infrastructure Sprint

Citrea Devnet started its infrastructure sprint last month. We integrated important infrastructure to Citrea for setting the foundation for developers to easily build applications on Citrea. The infrastructure sprint featured oracles and indexers: Stork, Goldsky, SubQuery, Envio and SQD Network.

We are continuously expanding our partnerships and integrations to provide the best developer experience. Stay tuned for more developer-oriented content and news.
